Bella is second with 730 baby girl girls given this name by 2021. Although the name is traditionally shortened to Isabella, it can conjure up festive vibes and is a good choice for parents who want a hint of Christmas with its connections to jingle bells.

The seasonal Holly is third on the most loved festive names charts, with 568 new born girls receiving this name by 2021.

Holly has been a key Christmas addition for centuries – in fact prior to Victorian times the term ‘Christmas tree’ actually referred to holly.

Holly is also a birth flower of December, so it makes a great name for a December-born baby.

Next, the eternally joyful Joseph will be next with 1,307 boys bearing the name by 2021. Gabriel is another nativity-inspired classic with 749 boys being given the same name last year.

Christmas is a time to feast and some of the most popular festive flavours and foods could be a good source of inspiration for parents looking for naming ideas.
