Aaron Rai takes the 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass’ island green, making it the second hole in one at the 2023 Players Championship.

It happened again.

A par-3 17th hole on the famous island green. Aaron Rai won Saturday’s third round at the Players Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach.

This Thursday Hayden Buckley hit one. Rai hit it similarly, hitting his shot 15 feet beyond the front pin before it spun back.

It’s the first time in Players history there has been two holes-in-one at the 17th hole in the same year. It’s the third one in the past two years, with Shane Lowry making one in a similar location during the third round last year.

Saturday’s par-3 17th fairway was played at 122 yards. Here’s a look at everyone who has hit a hole-in-one on the 17th in Players history.

Rai was able to score 6 under through 17 holes thanks to the ace.
