Three states’ vaccine mandates are ruled out by an appeals court

CINCINNATI, Ohio (AP) — An appeals court has affirmed a ban in three states on enforcing a federal vaccine mandate for workers who contract with the federal government.

A Sixth Circuit U.S Court of Appeals in Cincinnati affirmed Thursday’s lower court ruling that the mandate was not constitutional. While legal battles continue around the country, President Joe Biden’s administration has not enforced the rule.

A federal judge in Louisville (Kentucky) blocked the Biden rule This state, along with two other states: Tennessee (and Ohio) will be vaccinated in November 2021. This mandate requires federal workers to wear face masks when contracting for work.

The Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals issued a similar ruling In December, Indiana, Louisiana, and Mississippi

“The Sixth Circuit’s decision is a resounding victory against unlawful federal overreach into the personal medical decisions of Kentuckians,” Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron said in a statement Thursday.

Cameron, a Republican running to be governor, filed the Kentucky lawsuit on 2021.
