Big Ten Network is a smash hit with USC football fans
Saturday night was the big introduction to Big Ten Network for USC football fans. It’s true that Big Ten Network covered USC at Big Ten media days in late July in Indianapolis, and it’s also true that the network covered USC preseason practice with a one-hour special featuring anchor Ashley Adamson, studio analyst Gerry DiNardo, and game analyst Yogi Roth. People will readily recall that Adamson and Roth are imports from the Pac-12 Network, the television outlet which regularly angered USC fans over the course of many years for the main reason that a lot of people could not access it to watch their Trojans. It is often said by football coaches that “availability is the best ability,” and for a lot of USC fans, the Trojans were not available for viewing because of the Pac-12 Network’s limited reach and visibility. That all changed on Saturday against Utah State. USC’s home opener for the 2024 college football season was on BTN, and as a result, a lot more fans across the country could watch the Men of Troy in a late-night kickoff. Guy Haberman and Yogi Roth had the call on the BTN game broadcast, with the halftime and postgame shows anchored by BTN veteran Dave Revsine, the aforementioned Ashley Adamson, and studio analyst Marcel Reece.
As you will see below, USC football fans really seemed to appreciate the positive coverage provided by Big Ten Network, starting with the opening introductions at the Los Angeles Coliseum. Take a look at the start of a new era, putting to an end the Larry Scott reign of error known as the Pac-12 Network:

GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION
It feels so good to be part of the Big 10. These guys r pro. Was watching their network games all day. Great studio shows, game production. Not worried about the refs making terrible calls.

NEW VIBE
Very different from The PAC 12 after dark games isn’t it! That’s what happens when your conference cares about the school and their fans!

CROWD WAS GOOD, TOO
Not sure if you’re getting any crowd shots on TV but this is an impressive turnout for an early season game against a so-so team on a crazy hot day. Well done SC!#USC #FightOn ✌️
