Hawks announce roster moves, place Tyler Johnson on IR initially appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

The Blackhawks introduced a number of roster strikes on Monday forward of their three-game street journey earlier than the bye week and NHL All-Star Break:

  • Tyler Johnson (left ankle) has been positioned on injured reserve.

  • Ahead Luke Philp and defenseman Filip Roos have been recalled from the AHL.

  • Defenseman Isaak Phillips has been reassigned to the Rockford IceHogs.

Johnson left on the finish of the primary interval in Sunday’s 2-1 loss to Los Angeles after reaggravating the ankle sprain he suffered earlier within the season. He was seen in a strolling boot after the sport and will not play on the three-game street journey.

To assist fill Johnson’s position within the lineup and presumably on the second energy play, the Blackhawks recalled the 27-year-old Philp, who has by no means performed in an NHL recreation.

Philp ranks first on the IceHogs in power-play targets (6), tied for third in targets (14) and fourth in factors (30) in 31 video games. He is a right-handed shot and may play middle or wing, which provides the Blackhawks some versatility.

Roos has three factors (one purpose, two assists) in 15 video games with the Blackhawks this season.
