Brook Lopez and Gary Trent Jr. take part in a Raptors loss physical

On Tuesday night, the Toronto Raptors and Milwaukee Bucks battled it out at Fiserv Forum. Toronto lost in a 130-122 defeat.

The Bucks capitalized on the home crowd to win despite losing Giannis Antetokounmpo (and Khris Midton) to injury. Jrue holiday was responsible for most of the offensive work, scoring 37 and shooting 16-for-26. Grayson Allen hit four three-pointers, scoring 25 points. Brook Lopez scored 19 points.

Fred VanVleet, who made a game-high 39 point total for the Raptors, had six field goals and sank 15 field goals. Gary Trent Jr. produced another stellar performance with 28 points. Pascal Siakam had 23 points and nine boards.

The game came to an abrupt halt in the fourth quarter. Brook Lopez and Trent Jr. got in trouble in the paint. It prompted a bench clearing scuffle.

Evidently, Lopez held Trent Jr.’s hand and forced him to the ground into the crowd. He also pulled off and tossed the guard’s hairband. Siakam and O.G. Anunoby came to their teammate’s defense, getting in between the standoff before the rest of the players on the floor — as well as the Raptors’ bench — rushed in to break up the scuffle.

Lopez was visibly upset during the altercation. The Raptors star, however, was able keep his cool while remaining at a distance.

The video review showed that the Bucks big man received a double technical foul. He was then ejected. Jamaal Magloire was the Raptors assistant coach and Anunoby were each awarded a tech.

Lopez expressed concern about the play after his first career ejection.

“I don’t think I can expect the refs will get it right if it’s not going to happen during the game. Why are they gonna replay it wrong?” He stated. He said, “It’s how it is. They make mistakes as well. They made errors tonight.”
