Brook Lopez and Gary Trent Jr. perform a physical during Raptors’ loss
The Toronto Raptors Milwaukee Bucks On Tuesday night, the two teams fought it out at Fiserv Forum. Toronto lost in a 130-122 defeat.
The Bucks reacted to the home crowd and held on for victory, despite the loss of superstar duo Giannis Antetokounmpo Khris Middleton. The tightly contested affair reached its peak in the fourth quarter when Trent Jr. & Brook Lopez got into a fight in the paint. This prompted a bench-clearing spat.
Lopez evidently held Trent Jr. hostage and forced him from the floor to the crowd, pulling off the headband of the guard and throwing it at the crowd. Siakam, O.G. Anunoby came to their teammate’s defense, getting in between the standoff before the rest of the players on the floor — as well as the Raptors’ bench — rushed in to break up the scuffle.
Lopez was visibly upset during the altercation. The Raptors star, however, was able keep his cool while remaining at a distance.
The video review showed that the Bucks big man received a double technical foul. He was then ejected. Jamaal Magloire was the Raptors assistant coach and Anunoby were each awarded a tech.
Lopez, who was still upset by the play following his first career expulsion, expressed his disapproval at the decision to remove him from the game.
“I don’t think I can expect the refs will get it right if it’s not going to happen during the game. Why are they gonna replay it wrong?” He said. He said, “It’s how it is. You make mistakes, I make mistakes, and they make mistakes. They made mistakes tonight.”
