Chubb Appoints Margaret Peloso, Global Climate Officer at Chubb Charitable Foundation

Company welcomes Climate Specialist, Environmental Lawyer, Thought leader on Sustainability and Evolving climate Risks

ZURICH, Dec. 14, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Chubb Limited (NYSE: CB) today announced that Margaret Peloso has been appointed Senior Vice President, Chubb GroupPeloso is the Global Climate Officer and Executive director of the Chubb Charitable Foundation. Peloso comes to Chubb from Vinson & Elkins, where she served as the law firm’s Lead Sustainability Partner with responsibility for integrating sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors across its portfolio.

The newly created position of Global Climate Officer is effective Jan. 16, 2023Peloso will now be responsible for Chubb’s climate-related strategies. This includes business and public policy initiatives. As Chubb innovates and leads in implementing scientifically-based responses to climate changes,

Peloso is the Executive Director of the Chubb Charitable Foundation. He will help the foundation expand its reach and deliver on its mission to support clear-defined projects that solve real problems. This foundation will support people in the countries where they live and work, to help them build productive lives and to preserve the wilderness.

Peloso, a specialist in global and environmental climate issues, has published numerous reports and studies on sustainability and climate risk, including her PhD dissertation. Rising Sea Levels: Adapting.

Peloso led Vinson & Elkins’ change practice, focused on translating science for policy, litigation and corporate risk management. Before her 12-year tenure at Vinson & Elkins, Peloso completed a PhD in Environment at Duke University, and her law degree at Stanford University. She also earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Duke. Peloso has served as chair of numerous environment, energy and resource committees and councils within the American Bar Association. Peloso was previously a member and chair of several ABA committees.
