CMPD investigating homicide in northwest Charlotte

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in northwest Charlotte.

MEDIC said it responded to a shooting on the 500 block of Porter Street.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to MEDIC.

Police told Channel 9 that the homeowner found a stranger who had been shot inside her home.

Another person was inside the home at the time of the incident but it is not clear if this person was involved.

The homeowner and the witness are currently speaking with the police.
