Is it possible to iron sheets?

Or is it a complete waste?

My mother probably owned an ironingboard. It is not something I can recall her using. My grandmother had one. She used it so much that she built an entire ironing board cabinet just for her convenience. She ironed her napkinsHer placemats, tablecloths and tablecloths. She ironed her clothes. Her pillow covers, her doilies, as well as her clothes. I can recall seeing her steaming curtains on her porch. When I asked my aunt if she ironed her bedsheets, she didn’t know but said that she wouldn’t be surprised.

As my mother, I don’t iron much. I purchased a fancy dryer. steams The wrinkles are right out of my clothes and my cloth napkins Some fabrics are made from a combination of fabrics that is nearly wrinkle-proof. However, like my grandmother I iron what most people don’t, especially my sheets.

Ironing my sheets started innocently. I bought some lovely heirloom-embroidered pillow cases for my guest bedroom. They were wrinkled and tugging at the embroidery after one cycle in my washer and dryer. Naturally, I had to iron them—with sizing, not starch.

The crisp pillowcases made the flat sheets look sloppy and untidy due to their tight coverage. So I removed it from the bed and ironed them.

For the longest time I ironed only guest pillowcases and sheets. As my forward-facing sheets, they are rarely washed or ironed. I couldn’t deny myself the luxury of feeling like royalty when I slipped into freshly-pressed sheets. This is a hallmark of a luxurious resort or high-end hotel. This is when I began ironing my sheets.

Also, the flat sheet and pillowcases on my bed are embroidered. The way they wrinkle in a wash tugs at me heart. When I look at the fine stitching on my pillows, it is something that I love. flat sheet is folded back over my quiltThey are flat, so ironing them flat feels like a disservice. These were purchased for that special detail.

I did a search on the Internet to find out if anyone had written anything about ironing sheets. This led me to a number of threads that criticized ironing sheets. It could be true. However, I can’t deny how much it makes me feel to snuggle between silky sheets and to stack pillows with crisp covers.

Is anyone else a fan of ironing their sheets? Do you remember fondly the nights spent with aunts and grandmothers, and slipping into sheets that were unwrinkled?
