Black Adam – which starred Johnson as the titular character – was released this summer to a lukewarm reception Fans. It was originally hoped that the film would be a success and lead to a franchise.
However, with James Gunn and Peter Safran taking over DC Studios with plans to reboot the entire universe – Johnson has confirmed Black Adam has become the latest film to not make the cut, at least in the initial stages.

“James Gunn, I connected, and Black Adam won’t be in their initial chapter of storytelling.
“DC and Seven Bucks have however agreed to continue exploring the most useful ways Black Adam can benefit from future DC multiverse chapters.”
Johnson assured fans there was no bad blood and said, “James has known me for many years and we have always rooted to each other succeed.” It’s no different now, and I will always root for DC (and Marvel) to win and WIN BIG.
“You guys know me, and I have very thick skin – and you can always count on me to be direct with my words.
“These decisions taken by James and DC leadership reflect their vision of DCU through a creative lens.”
“After 15 years’ of hard work, Black Adam is finally finished. I am proud to have made this film for all the fans. He said, “I will always remember Black Adam’s fan reaction with immense gratitude, humility, and love.” “We did great.”
He ended by sending his love and support to all of his fans during the holiday period.
