With the news that Spring is coming soon, it’s hard to believe. Tiny, Beautiful Things, based on Cheryl Strayed’s best-selling book starring Kathryn HahnHulu’s April premiere will be for ‘The Friend’. Details were revealed at Television Critics Association Winter press tour.

The limited series is based upon Strayed’s life as well as her time writing the advice column. Dear SugarIt has all the ingredients for the next series on the streaming platform. Witherspoon’s other limited series, Little Fires Everywhere.

“When I read the source material, there was such generosity in that, and such a heart in there,” Hahn told journalists at the TCAs on January 14. “Then I saw Liz.” [Tigelaar] That was how I adapted it into this [show], I was incredibly moved to be a part of it.”

Hahn also stated that TV is the place she wants to be right at this moment, given the more freedom to tell complex stories in a more detailed manner. In a series like “The Secret Life of Bees”, she noted that it was possible to tell complex stories with more depth. Tiny, Beautiful Things, it’s nice to see “women’s bodies that are older, that can feel deep, complicated [things that are] Not the joke. They are funny, insightful, illuminating, and powerful. You can do it all. All kinds of voices. I feel super psyched to be around at this age, at this time, in this medium.” (By the way, if you haven’t read Hahn’s letter about getting sexier with age, which she wrote for Glamour At 44 years old, you can check this out here).

We now know a lot more about the series. For everything else, read on.

What is it? Tiny, Beautiful Things about? This limited series is based upon the best-selling collection by Cheryl StrayedThe author of the best-selling novel Wild. The TV version of Tiny, Beautiful Things Clare, played by Kathryn Hahn, is a struggling writer who becomes a respected advice columnist while her life is in turmoil.

“We knew Clare isn’t going to be [me exactly], but many of her experiences had to be mine,” Strayed said at the TCAs. She had to have a mother who was young, died from cancer, and who then got married early and divorced later. She had to be raised in rural areas like mine. Those are the elements that made me and those are what make Clare. So those are the pieces that come from my life.”
