Factbox-Chinese businesses added to U.S. entity lists
WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The Biden administration added YMTC, a Chinese memory chipmaker, and 21 “major Chinese players” to a trade blacklist. This was in an effort to increase its crackdown on China’s chip industry.
YMTC was included to the list due to concerns that it might divert American technology from previously blacklisted Chinese tech giants Hikvision and Huawei Technologies Co Ltd. The Federal Register will prohibit YMTC’s suppliers from shipping U.S. merchandise to it without a difficult license.

REMOVALS FROM UNVERIFIED LIST
27 Chinese entities were removed from the unverified List by the Biden administration. The unverified list is created when the United States can’t conduct inspections on-site to assess whether the company can be trusted to export sensitive U.S. technology. These inspections are required in China by the commerce ministry.
