Falcons interview Vic Fangio as defensive coordinator

The search for Dean Pees’ replacement is still going strong as the Falcons are set to interview former Broncos head coach Vic Fangio for their defensive coordinator vacancy, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday.

Fangio is currently serving as a defensive consultant for the Philadelphia Eagles, but he’s been coaching in the NFL in various roles since 1986.

Fangio is the Falcons’ experienced coordinator. Fangio, 64, has previously served as defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers (in Indianapolis Colts), Houston Texans (San Francisco 49ers), Chicago Bears (San Francisco 49ers), and Houston Texans (Holiday Texans).

Fangio was the Broncos head coach from 2019-2021 until he resigned with a 19-30 record and three seasons.  Atlanta also interviewed for the position of defensive coordinator. Al Holcomb On Wednesday
