The Falcons asked permission to interview the Broncos’ defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero According to Denver, Denver denied the request for the Atlanta position. Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post.

“Evero, the first-year Denver defensive coordinator, remains under contract with the Broncos for next season, so they’re allowed to deny him the opportunity to interview for any job not considered a promotion,” writes Gabriel.

Luckily for the Falcons there are still a few good candidates, including Brian Flores (ex-Dolphins head coach). According to reports, the team requested Jerry Gray, Green Bay Packers’ passing game coordinator, in order to interview him.

Gray has connections to the Tennessee Titans. That’s where Arthur Smith, Falcons head coach, and Dean Pees (retired defensive coordinator), both used to coach before they moved to Atlanta.
