Former NFL player Jerrell powe is arrested in connection to an alleged kidnapping in Mississippi

Last week, a former Ole Miss and NFL player were arrested for allegedly kidnapping.

Jail records show that Jerrell Powe (35) was booked in to Mississippi’s Madison County Detention Center.

Brian Myers, Ridgeland Police chief Powe was arrested According to NBC affiliate WLBT., there is a Chase Bank branch on Highland Colony Parkway. Ridgeland is located just 12 miles from Jackson, Mississippi.

PEOPLE tried to reach Myers Monday but were unsuccessful.

Myers stated to the news outlet that the incident occurred in Laurel Mississippi which is about 100 miles from Ridgeland. Myers stated that Gavin Bates, 35 years old, was also arrested and charged for kidnapping.

Myers claimed that the victim was safe. According to WLBT, the victim claimed that he was kidnapped against his will and was forced to withdraw money at the bank.

According to the Ridgeland Police Department, officers were not allowed to enter. responded to the Chase Bank According to Fox News, it is at approximately 1:40 p.m.

Powe is being held in Madison County Detention Center without bond. A hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.

Powe began playing in 2008 for Ole Miss.

In 2011, the Kansas City Chiefs drafted him as their sixth-round selection. He was a Houston Texan player before signing with Washington Redskins (now the Commanders) in 2015. He was released a year later.

It is not clear if Powe or Bates have hired attorneys to comment for them.
