GO Laurel Highlands refills ‘Pour Tour’ passport program

Jan. 15—GO Laurel Highlands is updating its “Pour Tour” passport program for 2023, and a list of Somerset County beer, wine and spirit-makers toasted the news this week.

This promotion lasts for a year and encourages people to visit the region’s breweries and wineries, as well as collect Passport-exclusive stickers which make them eligible to win prizes.

The updated “Passport” book now includes Boswell-based Rusty Musket Distilling Co., Forbes Trail Brewing near Stoystown and Glades Pike Winery. Also, established locations like Glades Pike Winery and Quinn Brewing Company’s Taproom near Indian Lake. Tall Pines in Salisbury, Whitehorse Brewing, Berlin.

Vin De Matrix Winery of Rockwood and Ponfeigh Distillery are both part of the list.

Ann Nemanic (executive director, GO Laurel Highlands), the official destination marketing agency for the three counties, stated, “Since launching the Laurel Highlands Pour Tour Passport 2019 the program has certainly exceeded expectations.” “The program is growing.”

According to her, economic data show that the program has had a direct impact of approximately $1 million on the Laurel Highlands’ craft beer vendors since 2019, she stated.

Around 40,000 passports were distributed. According to local drink-makers, visitors travel with them.

Kris Brewer, Rusty Musket Distilling Co. Co-owner, said that it was surprising how many people they get on their way from another place. They might be four to five hours away, and they want to experience something new.

Users can pick up a passport for free or download the app to get stickers. To verify their identity, they will need to make purchases at participating locations or upload a photo.

Monica Brancato, Glades Pike Winery’s tasting room manager, said that it was a “very good partnership.” “There are many people who are doing the Pour Tour.”

Nemenic explained that passports and apps cannot be combined. Participants can choose to use one method during their tasting tour.

Those who accumulate enough stickers will be eligible to win prizes such as T-shirts, Growlers, and a year-end drawing with a Laurel Highlands getaway.
