Gov. Brian Kemp Says Trump ‘Didn’t Do A Good Enough Job’ To Get Reelected

Donald Trump “didn’t do a good enough job” of making a case for a second term, and that’s why he lost, Georgia’s Republican Gov. Brian Kemp Telled Politico Interview published Friday.

Kemp was the second prominent Republican in a matter of days to remind Americans Trump had lost reelection. But, Kemp is still seeking GOP support for another shot at the presidency.

Former House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) told CNN Thursday that Trump is a “proven loser.”

“He’s fading fast,” Ryan said. ”He’s a proven loser who cost us the House in ’18, he cost us the White House in ’20, he cost us the Senate again and again, and I think we all know that.”

Ryan stated that Ryan believes Republicans are “moving past” Trump. “I can’t imagine him getting the nomination, frankly.”

Kemp told Politico that Trump lost reelection because he failed to tell people “what he had done and what he wanted to do in a second term.”

Perhaps thinking of Trump, he told a conservative group recently that Republicans can’t only be against Democrats, “We have to be For something,” Politico noted.

Kemp refused pressure from Trump to undercut Georgia’s vote for Joe Biden in the presidential election. Trump repaid him by endorsing Kemp’s reelection primary rival, David PerdueDemocrat, who was defeated, also lost. Stacy Abrams In the gubernatorial contest against Kemp.
