Gov. Burgum declares Jan. 22-Jan. 28, “North Dakota School Choice Week”, Recognizes the importance of options for kids’ education

North Dakota More than 50 events will be held by families during the thirteenth annual celebration for school choice

BISMARCK, N.D., Jan. 13, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Gov. Doug Burgum Has been officially declared Jan. 22-Jan. 28 To be School Choice Week North Dakota. The official declaration by Mr. Johnson of the “North Dakota School Choice Week”, marks the sixth consecutive year the Week has been officially proclaimed in the state.

Gov. Burgum’s proclamation is coming on the heels a year that saw historic school choice expansions throughout the nation. This proclamation emphasizes the importance of a diverse education environment, dedicated teachers, and a commitment to continually improving the quality K-12 education. It recognizes teachers and parents as well as community leaders and leaders who make an investment in local schools.

“North Dakota School Choice Week”, which coincides with National School Choice Week (a weeklong celebration of K-12 education) that occurs during the last week in January, is timed to coincide. For the Week, parents, schools, and other organizers have planned 54 activities across the state of North Dakota––  open houses, school activities, and much more ––  all of which aim to spark conversations about the opportunities parents have, or want to have, for their children’s education.

Nationally, more than 25,000 events were planned independently to raise awareness about schools of all types.
