Iran summons senior Ukraine diplomat over feedback on drone strike

DUBAI (Reuters) – Iran summoned Ukraine’s cost d’affaires in Tehran on Monday over his nation’s feedback on a drone strike on a navy manufacturing facility within the central Iranian province of Isfahan, in line with the semi-official Tasnim information company.

In Ukraine, which accuses Iran of supplying tons of of drones to Russia to assault civilian targets in Ukrainian cities removed from the entrance, a senior aide to President Volodymyr Zelenskiy linked the incident on to the struggle there.

“Explosive evening in Iran,” Mykhailo Podolyak tweeted on Sunday. “Did warn you.”

A U.S. official instructed Reuters that Israel seems to have been behind the assault.

Iran has acknowledged sending drones to Russia however says they had been despatched earlier than Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine final 12 months. Moscow denies its forces use Iranian drones in Ukraine, though many have been shot down and recovered there.
