Jets meet with Nathaniel Hackett, former Broncos coach

The Jets reached out and contacted Robert Saleh’s ex-coworker in their search to find a new offensive coordinator.

ESPN’s DiannaRussini reports that the Jets have a meeting with Nathaniel Hackett (ex-Broncos head coach).

Hackett and Saleh worked together in Jacksonville  under Gus Bradley and Doug Marrone in 2015 and 2016. Hackett served as quarterbacks coach and later, offensive coordinator for Jaguars. Saleh was linebacker coach.

Hackett was fired following 15 games in Denver. He had a 4-11 record and a 51-14 loss to Los Angeles Rams Christmas Day.

Hackett came to Denver after three years as Matt LaFleur’s offensive coordinator in Green Bay, though LaFleur called the plays.

The Jets now have five candidates. Hackett is also a Jets candidate. The Jets met with Kevin Patullo, Eagles’ former offensive coordinator, Nick Caley, Patriots tight end coach and Darrell Bevell, Dolphins’ quarterbacks coach and pass game coordinator.
