Kamaru Usman will rematch Leon Edwards against him; Justin Gaethje Rafael Fiziev will be co-main event

Leon Edwards and Kamaru Uman will meet for the third and final time in their respective careers on March 18th in London. Edwards will face Usman, a former champion and long-time welterweight champion in the main UFC 286, UFC president Dana White said Saturday.

White indicated that the co-main fight will be a lightweight bout featuring Justin Gaethje, Rafael Fiziev.

Edwards and Usman met twice before. Their first meeting was held in Orlando, Florida on December 19, 2015. Usman won with a unanimous decision. On Aug. 20, Usman won the title fight at UFC 278 in Salt Lake City.

Usman was on a 15-fight winning streak, and seemed to be in complete control of the bout. He danced to avoid being seen. Edwards in the final moments when he got kicked in the head He was eliminated. Edwards, whose side went ballistic after round 4, urging him not to be aggressive and to go for the knockout was adamant and raised his arms, confident he’d won.

The Octagon will award the title to the winner of this rubber match, and secondarily, the advantage in the series at 2-1, to the winner.

The co-main event is expected to be a highlight reel. Gaethje is a long-standing action fighter and has won Fight of the Night six of his 10 UFC bouts. After a dominant performance in beating Rafael dos Anjos, Gaethje will face a stiff test in the 12-1 Fiziev. Fiziev has won six consecutive UFC bouts after losing his debut.
