Hawks win blowout victory thanks to Kerby and Garrison

Apr. 4—Thomas Kerby belted a three-run home run to help the Priceville baseball team beat Pell City 10-2 on Monday.

The No. 4th-ranked team in Class 4A was also awarded a JoJo Garrison 96-pitch three-hitter. Troy signedee, struck out four times and walked two.

Ty Parker and Ryan Hanks, Priceville’s bottom hitters, went 5-for-6 with four runs scored. Hanks was 2-for-3 and scored two runs. Parker was 2-for-3 with 2 runs.

Soccer

—West Morgan girls in Foley: The Rebels defeated Leeds 4-2 and Whitesburg Christian 6-3 in the Southern Coast Cup over the weekend, but lost to St. John Paul II 9-1.

Madison Parker scored two assists and Brandy Hernandez scored four goals against Leeds. Diana Romero was the keeper and made six saves.

Parker and Hernandez each scored three goals in Whitesburg Christian’s win. Hernandez scored the goal against SPJII.

West Morgan (11-7) took second place at the Oyster Bay division. The Rebels will be back on the field April 11, with a match against West Limestone at 5:05 p.m.
