Lea Michele shares her reaction if Barbra Strreisand saw her on ‘Funny Girl.

Funny Girl” star Lea Michele Submitted Jimmy Fallon that she’d “black out” if the musical’s original lead Barbra Streisand On the day of her performance, I was there Broadway.

Michele replaced Beanie Feldstein – who played Fanny Brice in “Funny Girl” – in the musical’s latest run last year. “Funny Girl” has been a smash hit on Broadway and twice broke the box office record The August Wilson Theatre has been busy over the last few weeks.

The “Glee” actor told “The Tonight Show” host that Streisand’s letter to her, which included a “thumbs up,” made her cry.

“Literally it was like a gold envelope, it flew in on doves, it came in through my window of my dressing room,” Michele joked.

“It was so incredible and now… everyone’s like ‘Are you going to frame it?,’ What are you going to do with it?… It was actually just a piece of paper that I put in my safe at home. The only thing in my safe are a letter from Barbra and the first haircut from. [my son’s] haircut.”

Michele said that the letter would stay in the safe and told Fallon that she was able through a friend to send a message to Streisand. She added that she wouldn’t be able to take it if Streisand ever attended her “Funny Girl” performance.

“I’d die, I’d black out,” Michele said.

“It’s funny, this is the first show I’ve ever done where I love knowing that people are there… the other night I saw a woman that I thought was her and I felt like my mouth got dry and it was just like I started hearing ringing in my ears.”
