Man accused of shooting his wife, and then leaving her on the Pittsburgh highway ramp.

An accused man was arrested for shooting his wife and then leaving her on a Pittsburgh highway ramp.

On Sunday, Kevin Crew, 37 years old was arrested by Allegheny County Police.

Crew is suspected of shooting his wife in the legs during an argument while they were driving down the exit ramp of I-579 towards Boulevard of the Allies. This happened on Nov. 28. Police say Crew got into the driver’s seat and drove off after the woman pulled over and got out of the vehicle.

Crew was reported by a tipter to police from an apartment located on the 7000 block Apple Street in Pittsburgh. Around 11:00 a.m., detectives reached the apartment. Crew was not present, but Crew spoke to Chelsey MacIntosh, Crew’s current girlfriend. She told police that she had organized different places Crew could stay.

Crew was located in a nearby apartment shortly afterwards.

Officers report that Crew was taken into custody without any incident.

During the arrest, a gun was also recovered.

“I commend my detectives and personnel for swiftly acting on the information they developed today leading to the apprehension of this dangerous individual,” said Sheriff Kevin Kraus. “The actions of this defendant represented a clear threat to the victim and the public.”

Crew may also be charged as a person who did not possess a firearm.

McIntosh is charged with hindering an arrest.
