After his toddler son was seen wandering through a corridor with a gun, a man is taken into custody and broadcast live to TV

Indiana police officers, whose work was being broadcast live on cable TVAfter his toddler son was reported by neighbors, he was arrested and taken into custody roaming an apartment hallway with a loaded gunOfficials said.

The video was shown Saturday night Reelz’s “On Patrol: Live” Beech Grove police received a call from a boy whose only clothing was diapered, who was said to be walking unsupervised, and pointed a gun.

Officers spoke to a neighbor and then called police. They also reached Shane Osborne, the boy’s dad, at 45. He said that there wasn’t a gun in his home, as “Live” video shows.

When the four responding officers had been about to leave, a neighbor approached them and showed them video. It was a video of a gun-toting boy wearing a diaper.

“That’s absolutely tough to see,” said “Live” analyst Sean “Sticks” LarkinRetired Tulsa, Oklahoma police sergeant. “You could clearly see that the child was pulling the trigger. It could have been an extremely, horrendous situation if it had been chambered and loaded.

The officers immediately went back to Osborne’s apartment and eventually found a 9 mm Smith & Wesson inside a closed roll-top desk, according to the Reelz show.

Another “Live” analyst, Curtis Wilson, a Richland County, South Carolina, sheriff’s deputy, said he doubts the child randomly put the gun in the desk.

“The way that it was placed in this dresser, the way it was actually strategically placed in there and the top down, it’s unlikely that a little kid was able to do that,” he said.

According to court records Osborne was charged with felony neglect of dependent and providing firearms to a child. According to Marion County Prosecutor’s Office records, his first court appearance is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.

Osborne, an ex-convict, had previously told cameras that he couldn’t own guns prior to the firearm being found.

A representative of the state Corrections Department said that Osborne spent 13 months in prison for cases relating to theft and forgery dating back to 2012 and 2013.

Tuesday was not immediately clear if Osborne had employed or been assigned an lawyer. His cellphone was not answered when he called.

This arrest was made a little over a week after the arrest of a 6-year old Virginia boy opened fire His first-grade teacher.

Larkin stated that the Indiana incident could have easily ended in tragedy.

“There is a point at which he holds it up and it almost looks like he’s looking up toward his face,” he stated.

Larkin said: “We hear these types of stories where children come across, find firearms, these horrible results that sometimes happen.” It’s definitely different to see it on video.
