SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Connor McDavid had two goals and an assist, and the Edmonton Oilers beat the San Jose Sharks 7-1 on Friday night.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Leon Draisaitl each scored a goal and assisted with two assists. Klim Kostin and Jesse Puljujarvi also scored for Edmonton. Ryan McLeod was also a contributor to the Oilers’ goals. In Edmonton’s second consecutive win, Jack Campbell saved 25 shots.

Oskar Lindblom scored the San Jose win. Kaapo Kahkonen was third with 34 saves. The Sharks have lost four out of five games in their last five (1-3-1).

McDavid demonstrated his skills by running down the middle of ice on the power-play with a quick shot to beat Kahkonen. This gave the Oilers a lead of 1-0 with 9:01 remaining in the first half.

Kostin doubled his lead with his eighth season-ending score with 1:46 left to play in the opening period.

McDavid was found on Draisaitl’s power play by McDavid, who made it 3-0 with a sweet backdoor pass behind him.

Mattias Janmark found Nugent-Hopkins from behind the net for a short-handed goal after Sharks defenseman Matt Benning couldn’t hold the puck in the offensive zone. It was Nugent Hopkins’ 21st goal this season, making it 4-1

McDavid stole McDavid’s puck on a frontcheck and found Draisaitl at the slot for his 24th goal, with 2:05 remaining.

McLeod and Puljujarvi were able to score 34 seconds apart in the third quarter to make it 7-1 with 7:14 remaining.

Campbell’s shutout bid was ended by Lindblom’s tip in on a shot taken by Matt Benning with less than 5 minutes remaining.
