Romanian prosecutors remove luxury cars that were seized in Andrew Tate’s case

VOLUNTARI (Romania) – Romanian authorities began taking away luxury cars seized in a criminal investigation into alleged human trafficking. This led to the arrest and detention of Andrew Tate, a divisive internet personality.

Romanian antiorganized crime prosecutors have detained Tate, Tristan Tate’s brother, and two Romanian women suspects. They are accused of creating a criminal gang that sexually exploits six women. They denied any wrongdoing.

Reuters reported that several cars were taken from Bucharest’s Tate compound to be stored.

Reuters reported earlier this week that prosecutors had seized 15 luxury vehicles as well as more than 10 properties and houses belonging to the suspects from Bucharest and the Prahova and Brasov counties to prevent assets being sold or hidden.

Tate’s lawyer wasn’t immediately available for comment.

The suspects challenged the 30-day arrest warrant they received earlier in the week. However, the Bucharest court rejected the challenge and ordered them to remain under police custody.

Tate was a former contestant in the UK reality TV show Big Brother. He is known for his misogynistic comments and hate speech.

His comments got him banned on all major social media platforms. However, his Twitter account was activated again in November after Elon Musk bought the platform.

Tate, who is of British and U.S. nationality, said that women are partly responsible for being raped, and that they belong exclusively to men.
