38 saves by Saros against Senators. Predators win their fourth consecutive.

OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) — Filip Forsberg had a goal and an assist and the Nashville Predators beat the Ottawa Senators 3-0 on Monday night.

Cam Talbot beat Forsberg in Ottawa’s net at 7:30 in order to give the Predators a four-straight win.

Juuse Saros (Predators netminder) was the story. He made 38 saves to earn his first shutout and 18th NHL win. He has stopped 102 of the 105 shots he’s faced in the last two games — following a 64-save performance Thursday in a 5-3 win over Carolina.

Roman Josi, Jeremy Lauzon and Jeremy Lauzon were also successful for the Predators.

Senators’ goalie Talbot saved 30 times, which is now their second consecutive loss.

In the opening 14 minutes, Senators held a lead of 11-5 in shots. In 32 seconds, however, the Senators were no longer in control. The Predators scored twice to give them a 2-0 advantage.

Josi took advantage a Senators turnover on their blue line and placed a chip shot above Talbot’s shoulder at 14:29. At 15:01 Lauzon directed a Tanner Jeannot wraparound into the Senators net.

Although Brady Tkachuk looked to be able to score the Senators in the second period of play, the play was stopped by the Predators who challenged it.
