‘Selling Sunset’ star Maya Vander pregnant again following heartbreaking miscarriage and stillbirth

After a tragic stillbirth and late-term loss of pregnancy in 2021, and a miscarriage the following year in 2022. Maya Vander from “Selling Sunset” is expecting again.

The reality realtor’s representative confirmed to PEOPLE Vander has announced that she is expecting a second child. She revealed the devastating news that her son Mason had died at 38 weeks of pregnancy in December 2021.

“Yesterday was the hardest day of my life. I had a baby that died at 38 weeks. I always heard of it but never imagined I’ll be part of the statistics,” Vander wrote on Instagram At the time. “Instead of delivering a baby, I get to go home with a memory box… I do not wish this on anyone.”

“What was a regular weekly checkup turned into a nightmare that I never imagine will happen to me,” she added. “Given I share my pregnancies in the show I knew I’ll have to post about this and avoid the ‘when is your due date ‘question. You will always be in our heart baby Mason.”

Vander revealed that she miscarried just six months after the tragedy. She and David Miller have two young children (and future big brothers) Aiden & Elle.

Last year Vander told PEOPLE that she and her husband learned that the loss of Mason was a “freak accident” after receiving official autopsy results.

“We got the autopsy report,” she said. “And it was just a bad accident with the [umbilical] cord mixed with some swallowed placenta.”

Last month, Vander shared a photo of herself with her husband at a local playground the couple donated to their community—and they dedicated it to their son, Mason.

“Today was very emotional morning! The playground that we donated has been completed and is now open for the kids. This playground is sure to bring joy to many kids. Mason, our stillborn Mason, will remain in our hearts forever. We can find some light in every tragedy and learn to cope with difficult times. Thank you Child Care Center for letting us create such a fun area for the kids!”

Fans speculated that Vander might be pregnant after she posted on her Instagram account a picture and a video in which it appeared she had a baby bump.

Last year she told the outlet she still hoped for another child, despite her losses.

“I think part of healing is getting pregnant again,” she said. “I hope I will, we’ll see.”
