Southwestern Oklahoma State WR Isreal Watson to attend Chiefs’ local pro day

Soon, the Kansas City Chiefs will have many intriguing prospects from the region who will be in town for the local pro-day. One of those prospects has strong ties beyond his region to the team.

Southwestern Oklahoma State WR Isreal Watson is expected to be among those in attendance at the team’s local pro day. Watson’s father is none other than former Chiefs FB Kimble Anders, who went into the team’s Ring of Honor and Hall of Fame last season. His godfather happens to be Chiefs Hall of Fame, FB Tony Richardson.

He is 6’2 and 215 lbs tall and was born in Kansas City, Kansas. He played football at Shawnee Mission West High School where he broke the school’s all-time yardage record.

Kansas State, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Iowa State and other schools recruited him out of high school, but he didn’t have the necessary grades to land at any of his top choices. He decided to go junior college and played at Butler CC, Eldorado, Kansas, New Mexico Highlands, Las Vegas, New Mexico. Then he landed at Southwestern Oklahoma State, 2022.

Watson was the Bulldogs’ leading receiver in 2022. He also earned a Second-Team All–GAC selection. He was the leading receiver in the conference with 71 receptions and 761 yards. Six touchdown grabs were his accomplishments.
