Steelers QB Mason Rudolph makes subtle jab at depth chart

After Sunday’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin I was asked about the situation at quarterback with Mason Rudolph and Mitch Trubisky. This was because starter Kenny Pickett He was again in the concussion protocol.

Tomlin stated that Rudolph and Trubisky are 2 and 2a respectively on the depth chart. Rudolph subtly denied this on Wednesday, when he was asked if he felt that way.

Rudolph is not expected to be active for any game this season, despite signing a one year contract extension with the team. The team is paying Rudolph just over $4million this season. Hardly what you expect for a player who isn’t even dressing on game day.

Rudolph will be available for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers if Pickett is unable to go. But there is an argument to be made that Rudolph shouldn’t just be active but get the start after a dreadful game by Trubisky last week after replacing Pickett.
