Suns report that F Cam Johnson is expected to return to work on Thursday

PHOENIX (AP) — Phoenix Suns forward Cam Johnson is expected to make his return from a knee injury on Thursday against the Brooklyn Nets.

Johnson’s return would bring good news to the Suns who have been devastated by injuries and are now at 21-24 for the season. This is 12th in the Western Conference.

Johnson, 26, was scoring 13 points per game his first season as a starter. Johnson tore his meniscus in his right leg on Nov. 4, and has been out of action for more than two months.

Johnson’s return to the Suns will be a boost, but they still have Devin Booker (groin) and Chris Paul (hip), who both missed significant time due to injuries.

Phoenix plays seven of its next eight home games. This stretch could determine whether the team can save their season. Two years ago, the Suns reached the NBA Finals before losing to the Bucks. They also won a record 64 regular season games last year.
