SPRING GREEN, Wis., 13 Jan 2023 (GLOBE NETWORKWIRE) — Taliesin Preservation, Inc., a Wisconsin nonprofit that aims to preserve the natural, constructed, and cultural environment of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin home, today announced the appointment of Hugh Weber Creative in Residence.

Weber is a network strategist, community organizer, strategic advisor, and network theorist. He counsels established leaders who are facing uncertainty in multiple industries, including design and media. Weber, who spent over a decade leading American political campaigns, founded OTA. This cultural organization focuses on connecting creative disciplines in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota. Weber later founded WE MUST be Bold, a community design studio. It was acquired in 2019. The Great DiscontentA platform that promotes the work of emerging artists, and creative communities that are underrepresented.

Weber, in partnership with Taliesin Preservation will host world-renowned artists, creatives and executives in multiday workshops at Taliesin. These workshops will focus on professional challenges and potential opportunities for transformation, beginning in 2023. Uncertainty is a part of any creative journey. Everybody crosses a crossroads, and faces obstacles as we try to move forward. Weber says that Frank Lloyd Wright was faced with these uncertain moments and he sought help from Taliesin. “With Taliesin Preservation support, in the context Wright’s home studio, I believe that it is possible to create literal and symbolic space to examine these moments in the unknown, while also finding clarity of purpose and confidence in the process and a determination to move forward.

“Wright described Taliesin as a busy place for radicals. “We believe that Hugh’s vision for his workshops as Creative In Residence and the people he will host are deeply aligned to this history,” says Carrie Rodamaker (Executive Director of Taliesin Preservation). “Taliesin offers a chance to get lost in architecture, culture or agriculture. We are pleased to welcome these guests to this historic site. We hope they will think critically about their surroundings and create change in their own communities.

Caroline Hamblen (Taliesin Preservation’s Director for Programs, and a member of the Taliesin Fellowship from 2001) stated that “Educating the public about Frank Lloyd Wright’s life and work is the best way to do so.” “Taliesin is a living laboratory for exploring design and materials in the world. We are thrilled to welcome another generation to explore this place and its creative spirits.
