The lavender haze is creeping up on Taylor Swift, and he or she’s prepared to ask followers into the Midnights mist.

“Meet me at midnight…” Swift wrote in an Instagram post teasing the primary seven seconds of an all-new music video. “…for the ‘Lavender Haze’ music video premiere (!!!!!!!!!!!!!).”

Within the teaser, all that may be seen is somebody in a lavender shirt — presumably Swift, 33 — sitting on a mattress as lavender smoke trickles by.

The “Lavender Haze” video is the third video the 11-time Grammy winner will launch from her tenth studio album, Midnights.

Movies for “Anti-Hero” — which lately turned Swift’s longest-running No. 1 hit because it topped the Billboard 100 for the eighth week — and “Bejeweled” beforehand debuted, with followers loving the signature Swift over-the-top storylines and scenes. “Bejeweled” even featured a number of star-studded cameos, together with Laura Dern, Dita Von Teese, and the Haim sisters.

Swift introduced that Midnights, which she’s called “an entire idea album,” would have a complete host of music movies to accompany the 13 tracks. The day earlier than the album’s launch, she shared a teaser of clips of the movies that followers may count on, and every clip, in true Swift model, appeared to promise a hidden easter egg or two.

Lavender glitter, an ode to her Communicate Now guitar, Alice in Wonderland-esque tea events, and a photograph of her grandmother, Marjorie, are just some of the small print followers have noticed within the two movies she’s launched to this point.

Followers should meet Swift at midnight tonight to see what additional clues she may share about future Midnights movies and possibly even her upcoming Eras tour — which was the subject of a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday following the Ticketmaster fiasco that left hundreds of thousands unable to buy tickets to the tour.

“Lavender Haze” is without doubt one of the few songs Swift has ever explicitly confirmed is about her longtime boyfriend, Joe Alwyn.

Forward of the album’s launch, she shared clips diving into a few of Midnights’ 13 tracks and revealed the shocking supply of inspiration behind “Lavender Haze.”

Swift mentioned that, “whenever you’re within the lavender haze, you may do something to remain there,” although the world is usually fast to “weigh in on” who an individual is in love with.

“I occurred upon the phrase Lavender Haze once I was watching Mad Males, and I appeared it up as a result of I assumed it sounded cool,” she mentioned in a video shared two weeks earlier than Midnights dropped. “And it seems that it is a widespread phrase used within the ’50s the place they might simply describe being in love, like, you had been within the lavender haze, and that meant that you just had been in that all-encompassing love glow, and I assumed that was actually lovely.”

She shared that the track is impressed by her and Alwyn’s give attention to conserving their relationship personal. “My relationship — for six years, we have needed to dodge bizarre rumors, tabloid stuff, and we simply ignore it. This track is kind of concerning the act of ignoring that stuff to guard the actual stuff.”
