Texas transfers Ovie Oghoufo to LSU

Ovie Oghoufo can be contacted at on his way to Baton Rouge After two years living in Austin. He was a student-athlete on Forty Acres and earned Academic All-American Pressuring quarterbacks to do the right thing and honor them.

Oghoufo, though talented and athletic, wasn’t the perfect fit at Texas. His problems revolved around running support. LSU could offer more passing down roles to the natural pass rusher.

Oghoufo and Texas will both benefit from the move. The Longhorns could find a more natural fit for Pete Kwiatkowski’s defense with Tausili Akana and better edge setting and playmaking from Justice Finkley, Ethan Burke, Colton Vasek and others.

Oghoufo is now in a home that has a solid foundation of defensive talent, which will allow him to flourish in his new role. He reunites with his former head coach Brian Kelly, both of which were part of Notre Dame’s last trip to the College Football Playoff.
