“The greatest… it was unbelievable”

Things got icy toward the end between Tom Brady Bill Belichick.

But now that Brady says his career is over — “for good” this time — the two are looking back fondly on old times.

Brady was on Monday’s first episode of his weekly podcast “Let’s Go!” Brady appeared Monday on the first episode of his weekly “Let’s Go!” podcast since last week’s announcement about his retirement. His first guest was on an episode that also invited Peyton Manning and Rob Gronkowski? Belichick, of course. Six days after the Super Bowl, neither one of them was able to win, and the two men reflected on the most successful coaching-quarterback pairings in NFL history.

Belichick was glowing in his praises for Brady.

“The greatest player, the greatest career, a great, great person,” Belichick said. It was an honor and a great opportunity to coach Tom. I guess it’s gotta end at some point. But it’s the greatest one ever. So, congratulations, Tom.”

Belichick is known for his candor, which was rare in an era where he has been so focused on keeping as much of his public interest to himself as possible. Belichick went on to praise Brady’s ability to quickly process information and make decisions. He also credited his long-time quarterback for helping him become a better coach.

Belichick added, “I was so blessed to learn from him. His vision was amazing.” It is something that no other coach can offer. It was unbelievable.”

Brady cracked his voice as he answered Belichick’s question and Jim Gray’s question about what Belichick did for him to be the best.

“It’s more what did he not do to bring out the best in me,” Brady said. … “Coach Belichick, and I had an amazing relationship from the time I was drafted. They spent a lot together. He taught me a lot about football and how to study defenses. …

“I couldn’t imagine a better teacher than to say, “hey, here’s how you play quarterback in NFL.”

Brady also was challenged reporting that his and Belichick’s relationship was strained At the end.

“It’s such a stupid — in my view, people were always trying to pull us apart. I don’t believe we ever felt this way with each other.

“We never pulled apart. In fact, we were always going in the same direction. “I think they got tired of the same story when they were together for 20 years in New England.”

Brady discussed his decision not to continue with the series before Belichick joined. Brady repeatedly insisted that his retirement was permanent after this episode. last year’s effort lasted mere weeks.

Brady stated that “There’s always been gonna be part of me that wants to play, and part that feels like it can play.” It’s all about making the right decision and knowing when it’s right. It’s going to end some day, and for me, it’s now.

Brady announced that he will shift his attention from the football field to his personal life, after a year that saw both his football career and marriage to Gisele bundchen end. On the same day he made his announcement, he said it. he won’t start his broadcast career with Fox Up to the 2024 NFL season.

Brady said, “I have always wanted to maximize the potential of my ability as an athlete.” “Now I have the opportunity to maximize my abilities as both a person as well and as human being, as both a father, a son, a brother, and a friend.”
