You can catch the next total solar eclipse in three months, April 2023, if you missed 2017’s Great American Eclipse.

Depending on your love for travel, you will see the eclipse from either fortunately or unfortunately. IndonesiaEast Timor and the Indian Ocean off of the coast of Western Australia. This means that you can choose from one of the following: the best ways to see the spectacle is on the water.

After the Australian eclipse cruise was sold out, science magazine New Scientist As part of its tour offerings, chartered a second boat to transport visitors to the show. This vessel is not sailing along the coast of Australia but instead, it’s sailing through Indonesia.

The 10-day voyage is on the Ombak PutihA traditional sailing boat from Indonesia known as the a pinisiThe ancestors of the, are from Borneo and Sulawesi. Local expedition leaders will be hosting 22 guests at sea for this expedition. The star of the show will, of course, be the total solar eclipse — a phenomenon when the moon crosses between the Earth and the sun, blocking nearly all of the sun’s light across a swath of our planet for about 70 seconds. The event will be viewed at Maupora Atoll by guests. After the event, there will be a beach barbecue.

However, the trip also includes cultural immersion and wildlife sightings in some of Indonesia’s eastern islands. The local Lamaholot artisans will teach guests about ikat, a method of dyeing fabric. The semi-nomadic Bajau will be visiting Wuring to learn about their homes built on stilts made of coral rocks. In Sika, guests can try to spot the docile dugongs (a relative of manatee). Throughout the adventure will be opportunities to snorkel and swim — and perhaps even see dolphins, turtles, and pilot whales.
