Research on commercial vehicle telematics: Three parties try to facilitate industrial vehicle telematics upgrade.

2022 China’s Commercial vehicle telematics continues to evolve. Intelligent terminal suppliers, OEM telematics platforms, and third-party operating platform platforms achieve business expansion and digital upgrading on the strength their own advantages.

1. Leaders continue to expand as the terminal product standards improve.

Commercial vehicle products such as T-Box and driving recorder, which are influenced by the upgraded China Phase VI Emission Standards (and new national standards), enter the upgrade phase in 2022. To meet OEMs’ update requirements, the most prominent suppliers launch new products quickly.

The intelligence business of terminal device bellwethers is expanding to meet the intelligent needs commercial vehicles. Hopechart IoT, for example, has developed a product system that includes five key hardware devices, including a driving recorder and ADAS terminal. It also offers t-Box, center console screen, TBox, camera, and T-Box.

These products continue to be upgraded in compliance with new standards. In the first half of 2022 the company performed pre-research and inspection on the new, national standard-compliant driving recordser products. They are likely to be mounted on heavy-duty trucks first. The T-Box, which is used for telematics management as well as heavy truck exhaust monitoring, can be connected to CAN buses and supports OTA upgrades. Large displays of 7-15 inches are displayed on the vehicle center console screens.

2. In order to create ecosystem solutions, OEMs expand their services.

OEMs of commercial vehicles are now incorporating ecological resources and building-system solutions in order to extend the value chain. Products form the core. OEMs can perform functions such as vehicle monitoring, fleet management and driving behavior analysis. They also extend the aftermarket chain to include precision marketing, financial insurance and after-sales services. This allows them to realize a refined management system that is tailored to each application scenario.

Sinotruk achieves higher total revenue from S-TVO over its entire life cycle by starting with the links of logistics efficiency improvement, butler service, asset management, and platform added value.

FAW Jiefang has a 100% telematics install rate in 2022. It also realizes interconnection among cloud platforms, intelligent terminals and service points of contacts. The company’s future plans include product competitive edge enhancement and industrial application of big-data.

In March 2022, Dongfeng Trucks The ecosystem brand Kunyue was released. Customers can access a variety of solutions including financing, after-sales, support, information, and management. The brand has achieved three major breakthroughs.

  • You can use the battery Swap Logistics Operation Solution and smart Port Operation Solution to operate your application sub-scenario ecosystem.

  • To enable interconnection between online freight platforms, launch ‘Sunshine Connection’ online freight platform.

3. Third-party operating platforms can be used to digitally upgrade sub-scenarios.

Third-party operating platforms can provide customized or general services for specific customers or groups. They offer multiple functions, including map navigation, logistics tracking, supervision and management. Third-party platforms have evolved with their own features.

Zhonghuan Satellite Navigation Communication Co. Ltd. assists OEMs, vehicle drivers, logistic companies, aftermarket services providers, financial insurer companies and carriers in the intensive, intelligent, and digital upgrading of the logistics sector.
