Joe Buck is divisive broadcaster.

He just turned some Buccaneers fan against him.

During Monday’s wild card game between Tampa Bay (Texas Cowboys) and Dallas Cowboys, the ESPN announcer made a snide comment about Tom Brady.

The Cowboys were leading 6-0 at halftime. The Buccaneers could have taken a lead with second and goal from the Dallas 5-yard line. Tom Brady instead threw an intercept. Brady used a shotgun snap to fake a handoff to RachaadWhite, then looked over the middle.

Brady floated a ball into the back of the endzone with the help of two Cowboys pass rushing players. He didn’t throw the ball far enough. Jayron Kearse from the Cowboys was able to get it in his hands and make sure that the interception is made within bounds.

The pick ended the Bucs’ 14-play, 70-yard drive that had produced zero points. This was Brady’s first red-zone interception since 2019, and his first as a Buccaneer. It ended a NFL-record streak with 410 red zone interceptions without an interception. We know that because Buck told us — after the interception, and before it.

Buck moments before the Bucs entered the red zone.

“Inside the red zone — that’s where they are, that’s why the fire the cannons and that’s where Tom Brady just simply does not turn the ball over.”

Buck’s comment was accompanied with a graphic that showed Brady had previously accounted to for 86 passing touchdowns and seven rushing touchdowns since joining the Bucs.

Brady turned it over again. With Tampa Bay’s season in jeopardy, it was here.
