U.S. could drop opposition to sending Abrams tanks to Ukraine

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The US, in a reversal, seems to be dropping its opposition to sending M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine and an announcement might come as quickly as this week, two U.S. officers advised Reuters on Tuesday.

The officers, talking on situation of anonymity, stated they weren’t conscious of a remaining U.S. determination to ship the Abrams to Ukraine, a transfer that would encourage Germany to comply with.

The Pentagon couldn’t be instantly reached for remark.
