(Reuters) – Uber Freight stated Tuesday it should lay off roughly 150 staff, or about 3% of its workforce, as financial uncertainty hammers demand for delivery providers.
The division of rideshare firm Uber Applied sciences stated the layoffs might be restricted to its digital brokerage operations that match shippers with truckers in search of to haul cargo.
With the transfer, Uber Freight joins trucking agency C.H. Robinson Worldwide, freight forwarding startup Flexport, and monetary providers and expertise corporations in shedding jobs this yr.
