ULA’s Innovative Vulcan Rocket is One Step closer to Launch

The first Vulcan rocket is completed and heading to the launch location

DECATUR, Ala., Jan. 13, 2023 /PRNewswire/ The United Launch Alliance Vulcan Centaur rocket, which is being prepared for its first test flight, has started its journey to the launch location. The rocket’s certification flight one (Cert-1) was successfully completed. The rocket was then loaded onto the R/S RocketShip at ULA’s rocket plant. Decatur, Ala. He is currently on a 2,000-mile journey to Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

RocketShip is available once it arrives in Cape CanaveralVulcan’s hardware will be taken to ULA facilities for inspection and processing before launch preparations. Vulcan will go through a series flight readiness verification tests, including multiple tanking and a wet rehearsal. The culmination of the testing will be an engine firing readiness firing. After the final testing is completed, the payloads are integrated and the vehicle is ready for launch.
