Video Transcript

RAPHIELLE JOHNSON Fred VanVleet was in a shooting slump from the beginning of the season. He struggled to get through the first week of the season. Mr. Bet On Yourself scored 14.5 points per games, shooting 32.5% from 3, and 25% from the field. VanVleet’s performance has improved, as he scored 39 points during back-to-back wins. VanVleet’s most recent game was a 3 point loss to the Nets on Dec 16. He shot 14 for 24, 7 or 8, from the field, and 39 points from the foul line. Along with those 39 points, VanVleet had 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

He was never the best shooter. In his six previous seasons, he shot less that 43% from the field. VanVleet only made 55.1% percent of his shots during the 2-game stretch. This VanVleet version is not necessary for the Raptors to be able to bounce back from losing five of their six last games.
