Analysts show heavy East Coast Bias in Vikings vs. Giants

The Minnesota Vikings are currently 13-4 heading into Sunday’s Wild Card game against the New York Giants, so why are experts salivating over the Giants and predicting them to upset the Vikings?

Let’s take a look at the Giants. After a 7-2 start, they finished the regular season 9-7-1. They are now 3-7-1 in their last 10 games. Their only wins were against the Houston Texans and Washington Commanders. They only beat the Baltimore Ravens (with a winning record) and the Jacksonville Jaguars (with a losing record). The Giants went 3-7-1 against teams that finished above.500.

Why is it that the Giants are so popular and are considered a trending pick to defeat the Vikings? It’s simple: they aren’t the Vikings.

Everyone has called the Vikings fraud this season, and they want to be proved right. The national media is doing everything they can to confirm that they are indeed frauds. The discussion on the first matchup has become nauseating.

Why was it that the Vikings, who were the majority of the game’s action, needed a long field goal in order to win a tie? Yes it’s the truth, but it’s the connotation behind it that is the issue. Everyone is just trying to discredit Vikings everywhere they go.

Let’s look at how the Vikings have done this season compared to the Giants.

  • 13-4 vs. 9-7-1

  • 7-3 vs. 3-3-1 in the 10 most recent games

  • 5-3 vs. 3-5-7-1 against teams above.500

  • Kirk Cousins is a Pro Bowler and Daniel Jones isn’t

We can see through the narratives that are being spun to confirm a previous and not to predict the outcome of the game.
