Walker Howard is a SEC West competitor

Former LSU quarterback Walker Howard Lane Kiffin is the true freshman passer.

Howard, a Lafayette native who attended St. Thomas More High School in Lafayette, redshirted his first season in Baton Rouge, after only playing in two games. He decided to go into the transfer portal after completing the year with four years remaining in his eligibility.

Howard and TCU visited the Rebels this Week. Florida didn’t get Howard on campus, though it did recruit him and sent offensive coordinator Rob Sale to visit his home in Lafayette. Howard is likely to remain in the SEC West, it seems.

Howard is far from being on the right path to Oxford, Mississippi. Ole Miss returns quarterback Jaxson Dart, a USC This season’s start was a transfer. He was not without his struggles, but he seems well-placed to keep the job in 2023. Howard and he will fight it out this offseason.
