Woman, 36, found dead after falling from a cruise ship off the Florida coast

A 36-year old woman was killed when she fell from a cruise boat. Her body was discovered off the coast Florida.
The following is an extract from the U.S. Coast GuardAfter she fell overboard from the cruise ship MSC Meraviglia, her body was found 18 miles away from Port Canaveral.

The Coast Guard refused to reveal the identity of the woman nor how she fell from her ship. CBS News According to reports, the Coast Guard found the body of the woman at around 7:30 AM.
MSC Cruises made a statement to PEOPLE stating that they were working with authorities to investigate the incident.
“Early this morning, MSC Meraviglia’s advanced detection systems alerted our crew to a passenger overboard while the ship was sailing to Port Canaveral,” the company said. “The crew conducted an immediate search-and-rescue operation with the support of the US Coast Guard, who assisted search efforts using boats and a helicopter.”
The statement said that the passenger died from his injuries despite being saved quickly. “We offer our full support for authorities as they investigate the matter. We are deeply affected by the incident and offer our condolences to the families and all those who were hurt.
The ship was currently returning from the Bahamas when the incident occurred. WFTV reported.
Footage published by the news station It appeared that the video showed dozens of people peering over the edge of the ship to search for the woman. It appeared that the video was shot late at night or early in the morning.

“Our deepest sympathies are with the family during this extremely hard time and we ask that you exercise discretion as we notify them of the tragedy,” a spokesperson for U.S. Coast Guard Public Affairs Detachment Jacksonville, Florida told CBS News in an interview.
