7 Bizarre Secrets about King Charles That Prince Harry Discovered from His Bombshell Book

Harry Claims that he does take a teddy bear everywhere.

Many stories have been told about King Charles and his Teddy Bear. “It was a pitiful object,” Harry says in the book about his father’s prize possession, “with broken arms and dangly threads, holes patched up here and there… Teddy expressed eloquently, better than Pa ever could, the essential loneliness of his childhood.”

He does a headstand every morning in boxer shorts. Harry writes

Harry claims that his father used to do a headstand in his bedroom every morning as a child wearing only boxer shorts.  “No! Don’t open! Please God, please don’t leave! The King would reply if he was interrupted. He would also hang “like an expert acrobat” from the bar.

Harry Claims That He Is Always Sniffing Things

According to Harry, his father “must’ve been a bloodhound in a former life….He was always sniffing things. He writes that he loves food, roses and our hair. He also wrote that he did long sniffs to ensure he could smell his own scent. Eau Sauvage. He would apply the stuff to his neck, cheeks, and shirt. It was made in Paris.

Harry Says He likes women with their hair down and no makeup.

Harry claims that King Charles is very particular about the way his women are presented. Harry even asked Meghan to have her hair down for their first meeting. “Her hair was down because she suggested that it be worn that way. Pa loves it when women have their hair down. Granny is the same. She also commented often on Kate’s beautiful mane.

Harry says that his father fell asleep while working. His brother and he would “find him at the desk among mountains of bulging postal bags. We found him fast asleep, face down, at his desk many times. We would shake his shoulders and he’d look up, his forehead covered with a piece of paper.

Harry claims that he was there in August 2018 with his dad and Meghan. Charles shared with them a story about the selkies (aka Scottish mermaids) who took on the form of seals. “So, when you see a seal,” he said,  “You never can tell…Sing to it. They often sing back.” Charles countered Harry’s claim that he was telling “fairy tales”, saying, “No, it is absolutely true!”
