His lawyers claim that Bankman-Fried’s parents were physically attacked by him.

NEW YORK (Reuters), Sam Bankman-Fried’s parents are receiving physical threats ever since the collapse in New York of their son’s cryptocurrency exchange FTX, according to his lawyers.

The disclosure was made by a Manhattan federal court filing. The lawyers requested that the names and addresses of the two remaining bailiffs for Bankman-Fried’s $250,000,000 bond be withheld.

Bankman Fried was required to live with Joseph Bankman and Barbara Fried. Since bail conditions were established, electronic monitoring has been in place.

His lawyers stated Tuesday that his parents had “in recent weeks become targets of intense media scrutiny and harassment, as well as threats.” The parents of Mr. Bankman Fried have received a constant stream of threats, including those expressing the desire to suffer physical harm.

The lawyers concluded that there was “serious concern” that additional sureties could face similar harassment, threats, and privacy intrusions and that this trumped any public right to access their identities.

Stanford Law School has Fried and Bankman as professors.

They signed a co-signing agreement with their son’s father, with additional sureties signing separate bonds for lower amounts.

According to a source, Bankman-Fried will plead not guilty to criminal charges Tuesday that he cheated investors. He also looted billions at FTX.

Illegally using FTX customer funds to support Alameda Research hedge fund, purchase real estate, and make political contributions in excess of a million dollars is what he was accused of.
