BARCS Animal Shelter Overfilled, Waives Dog Adoption Fees

It’s no secret that winter is a tough time for most animal shelters. The freezing cold can become too severe for outdoor cats and dogs, so they are brought to the shelter to ensure their safety. Holiday gifts animals become too much for their families and are often a nuisance. Volunteers are less likely to come in when roads are icy and snowy.
Even the most well-funded rescues or shelter teams can’t withstand the cold months. A Baltimore shelter for animals is now desperate for new adopters.
Shelters are overrun by dogs
The BARCS Animal Shelter Temporarily, there are no adoption fees for dogs. The South Baltimore shelter was completely out of space for new arrivals. Many of the dogs they have available are bully breeds that can often be hard to find homes. The shelter staff are now asking for help from anyone who is interested. According to the shelter, it had already adopted more than 200 dogs in January.
Foster families are also needed, according to the shelter. Fosters are needed for a wide range of animals. They are dogs that might be afraid to come to the shelter. These dogs could be sick, injured or own animals who need emergency boarding.
Fostering is an option if you’re not able to adopt in your area. The shelter will provide the supplies and there is no cost to foster. You only need to open your heart, home, and soul.
Becoming a pet-foster parent
It’s time to step up foster a dog It can be daunting. But, it’s actually easier than ever. All materials are provided by most shelters and rescues. That means you won’t need to pay for food, toys, or other necessities. All vet care must be done.
Some people find it too difficult to commit their time. If you want to help, but fostering isn’t up your alley, consider transport driving. This can be done by picking up rescue dogs from shelters or taking them to a foster family. It usually takes about 2-6 hours, but you can do it when you have the time. It can make a big difference for all involved.
